As a member of the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, Ke-design was approached to provide architectural services when the Chamber purchased a commercial unit opposite our Shrewsbury office.
The unit, which had previously served as a simple storage space with a lightweight mezzanine floor, one escape stair, and one general access stair, needed significant redevelopment.
The Chamber aimed to transform the unit into their new Shrewsbury Hub, featuring a reception area, rentable offices, a boardroom, a training room, a member's lounge, toilets, a kitchenette, and a lift for accessible first-floor offices.
The challenge was to design these spaces around the existing window openings and the structural columns supporting the mezzanine floor.
Ke-design produced several floor plans before developing a comprehensive set of Building Regulation drawings for tender.
